Celebrating a rich discussion with National CASA/GAL Book Club author David Ambroz and his memoir, A Place Called Home

NEWS

David Ambroz, the widely-acclaimed author and speaker, discussed A Place Called Home recently with more than 230 National CASA/GAL Book Club members. During the session, he answered questions from the network about his experience growing up in poverty and foster care, and how it galvanized his resolve to change the child welfare system in this country.

As a nationally recognized expert and advocate working to increase the nation’s attention on poverty and child welfare, Ambroz’s personal story, which he discussed with humor and emotional honesty, both moved and inspired the audience. He also expressed his gratitude to the CASA/GAL network for the work they do every day “on the front lines of this battle.”

About the National CASA/GAL Book Club
National CASA/GAL launched its network-wide book club in the summer of 2020 to complement its issue-area learning series. For each learning series, staff and volunteers engage in facilitated dialogue on a list of readings. It’s a fantastic way for network colleagues and volunteers to connect and learn!
