The National Court Appointed Special Advocate Guardian ad Litem (CASA/GAL) Association for Children recently announced the appointment of Joey Orduña Hastings, JD, to the Board of Trustees’ Council of Advisors. Orduña Hastings is chief executive officer of the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges (NCJFCJ).

“Orduña Hastings is a respected, compassionate voice for children who have been abused and neglected,” said National CASA/GAL Association CEO Tara Perry. “Her expertise in the court system and depth of knowledge about legislative matters is very helpful to the important work we do to serve, advocate and protect the most vulnerable children in our communities.”

Orduña Hastings returned to the NCJFCJ as chief executive officer in 2016, having started her NCJFCJ career in 2001 as a model court liaison and manager. She has held roles of increasing responsibility in legislative, judicial and county government operations in the state of Nevada, including legislator coordinator for Brian Sandoval, former Governor of Nevada.

“National CASA/GAL Association and the NCJFCJ has had a decades-long partnership serving children and families who are impacted by abuse and neglect,” said Orduña Hastings. “It is a privilege to serve, share insight and collaborate with fellow leaders who put the well-being of our children first.”
