2024 Milestones—The Year in Review 

During this busy season, we at National CASA/GAL wish you and your loved ones peace, love, and joy. May the new year bring you good health and may you continue your vital support for children and families.

2024 has been a year of building and progress, thanks to the commitment of staff, volunteers, and supporters like you across our nation. Together, we have achieved remarkable milestones:

Our network grew in 2024

In the pursuit of serving every eligible child across the country, the National CASA/GAL Association welcomed 15 new and expanded local programs. In other positive news about network growth, we are delighted that there are now 15 states, as well as the District of Columbia, that have CASA/GAL program coverage in all jurisdictions.

We trained and empowered CASA/GAL volunteers, staff and governing body members 

Over 15,000 new volunteers received comprehensive preservice training, with continuing education provided to 70,000 volunteers. Training provided included offerings from the National CASA/GAL Association in the form of 45 webinars, 12 pre-service and Fostering Futures trainings of facilitators, three Fostering Futures trainings and dozens of local executive director and state director orientations and on-boarding sessions throughout the year.

We strengthened the quality of programs

Local programs reported 90% alignment with national standards, and we continued to support local CASA/GAL programs in achieving 100% alignment. We continued with the Highly Effective Standards Review Process (HESRP) for state CASA/GAL organizations with reviews conducted to date for 42 states.

We created awareness

Through events like Walk Run Thrive, we increased the visibility of our mission and attracted additional supporters and volunteers.
