Kappa Alpha Theta fulfills its $1 million pledge!
Members of Kappa Alpha Theta fraternity have walked beside us for nearly three decades now, supporting national, state and local CASA/GAL programs financially and through volunteerism and advocacy.
A few years ago, its leaders realized that only one in four children served by a CASA or GAL program had a Theta chapter nearby. So, in 2016, Kappa Alpha Theta announced their commitment to give one million dollars to the National CASA/GAL Association over the following three years. This commitment was a way for Theta to help all of us, regardless of whether we had a nearby chapter.
With these funds, National CASA would improve its work in performance measurement and provide resources and trainings to help volunteers advocate for better outcomes connected to children’s safety, permanency and well-being.
Through the generous support of individual Theta members, college chapters, and alumnae groups, Kappa Alpha Theta recently announced that they have reached and even exceeded this commitment, months in advance of their goal.
Most of all, we’re thrilled about the impact this funding will have on our ability to improve the outcomes of the hundreds of thousands of children we serve each year. Thank you, Thetas!!!
